Who is in Control?
Some days I feel that I have a lot to remember. I will be at work and have a number of orders on my mind that need to be made. One person will be giving me prices for a new product, a customer has a question and another employee will be asking me a question. I only have so many hours till 6 o'clock which is closing time and I know I can't work late cause I need to be somewhere 1/2 an hour away by 7. If I don't do everything in the right order at the right time it won't get done. You have been running since you got up that morning and you don't stop till you go to bed that night. You all know that feeling. That feeling of being super busy and trying to remember what day it is and what you have going that evening and what you need to do to prepare for the next evening or day.
I was thinking about this a little today. Not about how we might live too busy lives although that could be a direction I could go from here but since I like being busy I won't. :) No...what I was thinking was about God's schedule. Have you ever stopped to think about just how much has to be done to keep this earth running that is far beyond any one of our control? I think about the change of seasons and how we have a few things we need to do every season. Maybe its switching our tires on our cars. Maybe its putting stuff away for the winter or getting stuff our in the spring. Maybe its planting flowerbeds or gardens...but what about God. He remembers to start warming up the earth in the spring and cooling it down in the fall. He remembers to send rain when the earth is dry and sun to help things grow. He remembers to make the it dark at night and light during the day while at the same time making it the opposite on the other side of the world. He has set everything up so perfectly so it all works out.
God remembers to heal people when they are sick. He remembers to protect us and watch over us each and every day. He not only watches over us but over each animal and bird and fish. He keeps the world running and still has time to listen to each one of our requests and fears. He has time to love and care for each of us every day. There are a million things that could be named about how God is in complete control of our earth. His to do list must be super long. However, God is all-powerful. He can do anything and everything.
Tonight, I went for a walk through the orchard. I was so excited to see the large amount of little apples growing on each tree.
Matthew 19:26 ESV
But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
1 Chronicles 29:11 ESV
Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours. Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and you are exalted as head above all.

This got me thinking about just who gets the credit for that. Last year is a prime example of just how little control we have over God's creation. None of us would have chosen to lose the entire crop and we can do all things we are doing this year to grow the best apples but without God allowing them to grow we have no control over whether that will happen or not.
Sometimes I think I want control over my life. But then I look at how little I can actually handle and how much God does and controls and I think who better to have control over my life.
Some verses that came to mind:
Isaiah 45:6-7 ESV
That people may know, from the rising of the sun and from the west, that there is none besides me; I am the Lord, and there is no other. I form light and create darkness, I make well-being and create calamity, I am the Lord, who does all these things.Matthew 19:26 ESV
But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
1 Chronicles 29:11 ESV
