Living Our Dreams


The world tells you to live your dream. You say you are going to school for something you have always enjoyed and people say, “Good for you! You are living out your dream.” As a child, your teachers and parents encouraged you to dream big! “What do you want to be when you grow up?” You fly to a country you have wanted to always visit! You go snowboarding on a mountain you have dreamed of snowboarding on! A girl might dream to be married and have a family someday. A boy might dream to one day…..(nope, not gonna attempt to go inside the male’s head). While none of this is wrong, I was listening to Casting Crowns new cd this week and one of the songs on it put a different twist on living out dreams in my mind. Its called Dream For You. Here are the lyrics.

This made me think about how our dreams are really pointless if they don’t line up with the dream God has for us. Often our dreams might seem unreachable or impossible but what if God is dreaming for us? What if we live out His dream for us. We can’t go wrong with this. With God all things are possible! The one line in this song says, “I am strong when you are weak and I’ll carry you.” We can’t fail while living out the dream God has for us because He will get us through. If we follow His plan we don’t need to worry about whether not we will be making enough money, or if we are capable of completing the job or whether we crash from high pressure! God wants us to let Him dream for us. Can I do this? Can I give God complete control of my life and live the dreams he has for me?

Alright, so it is time to write another blog on one of my favorite people and since i am sitting in the airport and really have nothing better to do i decided now is the right time. the person i am going to write about this time has always been very dear to me but since i have been away from her for almost  6 weeks i feel a little bit more strongly right now. i miss her for a number of reasons. the person i am going to write about is my little sister Tory. Thankful Musings!

  You know every year thanksgiving is one of my favorite times of the year. I am not entirely sure why because for one it means winter is almost here which I don’t appreciate at all, two it is usually very cold and three it is very busy and there isn’t much time to relax. However the weekend of thanksgiving always end making me feel happy and thankful for the life that I have and the people that are in my life. A couple things have really stuck out to me this thanksgiving that I would love to share with you guys. One of the things that I have been really thankful for this year is a family that doesn’t depend on the success of their business and money for happiness. You see this fall we, as a family are only getting about 10 to 15 percent of our regular crop of apples. The Big Round Ticking Clock

I have been thinking a lot this week about time and how we spend it. Its been a very busy week and it is a busy time of year so this will vary for me depending on the time of year. When I disected this past week this is what I came up with. Now my question I want to ponder tonight is just what I did with those 54.5 hours? Did I use them wisely? Now of course there are many things I didnt document here. Like showering and getting ready in the morning/evening etc. Like driving from place to place. Like devotion time. But all week I felt like I had no time. I was running here and there and not sure just how I was gonna get everything done. But now that I do this I feel like I may have had extra time if I would have just managed it a bit better. There are things that I have to do but its what I do with those extra hours that count.
